OUR HISTORY
The YMCA of Parkersburg maintains a charter with the YMCA of the USA and is part of a regional alliance within Kentucky and West Virginia. Being a member of the YMCA of Parkersburg allows you to use any YMCA throughout the country.
The YMCA of Parkersburg first became incorporated on March 24, 1902. Although we have been around for over 100 years, our programs and buildings have changed, but our mission to serve the Mid-Ohio Valley has remained steadfast. From our first building on Fourth and Market Street to our current location on Broad Street, the YMCA of Parkersburg has always strived to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
AREAS OF IMPACT
The Y is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. That is because a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.
